Lake Naivasha

Today we visited lake Naivasha before heading to Nakuru. This freshwater lake covers around 139km2 depending on the amount of rainfall. It is part of the Rift Valley sitting at an elevation of 1,884m. Home to hippos and over 400 species of birds, and fish.

It's name means "rough water" but it did not live up to it's name for us today as we enjoyed a boat tour of the lake. Following are a few pictures taken.

There were so many cormorants, it was impressive

Can you find the python?
(I didn't, our boat driver had to take the picture for me, all I was seeing was the old skin it had shed hanging in a tree)

This one is for my sister, one of my first WILD giraffes!
